Classic Cioppino (San Francisco-Style Seafood Stew)


This Classic Cioppino is a true favorite Italian seafood stew originating in the incredible city of San Francisco. It is beautiful, and actually quite easy to make. You just need a couple hours from start to finish. Plus, you can tweak to you own tastes. Enjoy!!

Ingredients
∙ Makes 6
Seafood
1 lb Bay scallops
2 8 oz bottles Clam, juice
2 lbs Crab legs, fresh
1 lb Fish fillets, firm white
12 Hard-shell clams in shell, small
12 Mussels in shell
1 lb Shrimp, large
Produce
1 tbsp Basil, dried
2 Bay leafs
1/2 cup Celery
1/4 Flat-leaf parsley
4 cloves Garlic
1 Lemon (about 2 teaspoons), Juice of
1/2 tsp Oregano, dried
1/2 Red bell pepper (cored, seeded, chopped (about 1/2 cup))
1/2 tsp Thyme, dried leaves
1 28 oz. can Tomatoes, whole
2 Yellow onions, medium
Baking & spices
1/2 tsp Red pepper flake
1/2 tsp Salt
Oils & vinegars
2 tbsp Olive oil
Dairy
2 tbsp Butter, unsalted
Beer, wine & spirits
1 cup White wine, dry
